The Collections of Hong Kong Cultural Materials in CUHK Libraries & Guangdong Archives

粤港关系密切,文化同源.自辛亥革命起,广东人口大量迁移香港,当中不乏前清翰林、前国民政府之军政要员及书香世代之硕学鸿儒.

Chinese culture witnessed considerable degree of southward movement after the 1911 revolution when large number of immigrants from China's Mainland came to settle down in Hong Kong, among whom some were prestigious scholars from Guangdong Province. They not only helped to develop the education and culture here, but also left us huge amount of invaluable cultural materials, collection of which contributes significantly to the local cultural studies and supplements the gap of Guangdong archives created after their leaving of the homeland. To illustrate the close cultural linkage between the two places, this paper focuses on the annotation of 24 items on Hong Kong classical literature available in Chinese University of Hong Kong libraries. These items are closely related to the prominent Guangdong figures under study.
