Lin Yutang is an important person in the history of modern Chinese literature. With his understanding and accomplishment of the Chinese and Western culture, Mr. Lin explained the important problems in Chinese culture and aesthetics. For his aesthetics, he lays particular stress on the discussion of life art as well as the promotion of perception-oriented aesthetic values. There are both the influence of western aesthetics and the marrow of Chinese traditional aesthetics and culture among his aesthetic ideas. 
