Librarians and readers——Two main bodies in the modern library cause

长期以来,读者被认为是图书馆工作的“上帝”和主体,从图书馆事业的目的和宗旨来说无疑是正确的。然而,近年来,在图书馆界时髦着这样一种观点:馆员才是图书馆工作的主体和核心,离开了馆员,图书馆工作将陷于瘫痪和停滞,作为“上帝”的读者也将不复存在。上述两种观点相互对立,各有道理。文章试从馆员、读者在图书馆事业中的地位和作用、图书馆工作的现状以及图书馆事业的发展趋势和要求等方面进行分析,表明作者的观点。

Readers are always considered as‘God’and the main body in the library work.It is true from the aim and purpose of the library cause.However,in recent years,a fashionable viewpoint that librarians are the main part in the library work has widely spread in the circle of the librarians.Without librarians,the library work will be at a standstill and the readers will not exist,either.It seems that these two viewpoints are contradictory.The author hereby presents his own ideas,considering the developing trend of the library cause,the present situation in library work,and the different roles of the librarians and readers.
