文章从语言的线形序列、伸展原则、定语从句的功能以及主客体意识等方面剖析了英语和汉语民族思维模式的差异,并针对其差异和不同的文化习惯归结出了英译汉在句子层次上的五大技法:顺向翻译法和逆向翻译法、前置法和分译法及转换法。

This paper explores differences in thinking modes and cultural tradition between English and Chinese from aspects such as linear arrangement, principle of branching direction, function of attributive clauses, consciousness of subject and of object, etc. Then in view of the differences, we summarize five translation skills and methods: translating in the exact or reverse order of the original, proceeding, separate, and transforming methods.
