Treatment of Multiple Segment Fracture of the Tibia with the Tower Elastic Intramedullary Nail

目的 探讨塔形弹性髓内针 (TEIN)治疗胫腓骨多段粉碎性骨折的临床应用价值。 方法 自 1993年 1月至 1999年 12月采用自行设计的TEIN治疗胫腓骨多段骨折 18例。 结果 经随访 (平均 13个月 ) ,骨折全部愈合 ,平均愈合时间 :闭合骨折为 4个半月 ,开放骨折为 5个半月。按JohnerandWruh疗效标准 ,总优良率为 96 %。无弯针、断针、骨折不愈合及再骨折等并发症。 结论 塔形针兼顾了交锁针和Ender氏针的优点 。

Objective To study the clinical significance of the tower elastic intramedullary nail (TEIN) in the treatment of multiple segment fracture of the tibia. Methods From January 1993 to July 1999,18 cases of multiple segment fracture of the tibia were treated with TEIN. Results All the patients were followed up for an average of 13 months.The fracture all healed up. The vrerage healing time was 4.5 months for closed fracture, and 5.5 months for open fracture.According to Johner and Wruh’s criteria ,the total excellent and good rate was 96%.There was no nail failure or refracture. Conclusion TEIN is a convenient and effective method for multiple segment fracture of the tibia.
