双关是活跃于英汉两种语言的一种特殊的辞格,古今中外遣用这种指桑说槐的修辞的不乏其例,收到了良好的艺术效果。但由于英汉语言中音义的巨大反差,相互转译的可译度便大打折扣。对这一修辞进行对比分析,以期在译入语中再现原语的艺术效果。

Pun is a specific figure of speech generally seen in both the English and Chinese languages.Examples for authors to make good use of it defy enumeration.all providing satisfactory artistic effects.Owing to the striking contrast of the phonetic and semantic systems between the two languages,however the mutual translatability usually can't be completely guaranteed.And hence comes the present paper to discuss this phenomenon and to teproduce its original artistic achievements in the target language.
