Proteomics offers new means for the research of parasitology. The key technologies of proteomics research, including two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, biological mass spectrometry, image analysis, bioimformatics, the major contents and the potential applications of proteomics in the discovery of drug and vaccine are reviewed.
