To achieve a more complete dance education system, the communicating ways between teachers and students need to be constantly explored, and more attentions should be paid on cultivating students’ ability to learn independently. In the Western individual-oriented culture, the focus of effective communication between teachers and students is more about how to improve the methods of communication. For the majority of dance students in the collectivism education, the teachers’ words and actions are in absolute domination. Students are susceptible to listening to the teachers rather than taking the initiative to participate in teaching. They even barely understand that the active response they give will play a key role in promoting the quality of teaching and education. In this context, in order to build a valuable communication platform inside and outside the classroom, teachers need to more actively adjust the relationship between teachers and students to relieve students’ pressure arising from the communication. Each detail in teaching is virtually creating the atmosphere, such as the teachers’ manners and the choice of formations in the classroom. To develop self-learning attitude and ability, students should be trained to be confident, responsible, and then know how to choose based on interest. These factors are intertwined and mutually promoted and influenced. With an active learning attitude, students will gradually recognize their own personality as well as their unique artistic style brought by personality. Despite the differences between the eastern and western cultures, we should still consider whether we need to let students take the initiative to focus on their own needs and interests in learning rather than blindly receive anything the teachers give in Chinese dance education.Self-confidence is an assurance for self, and the assurance is from the accumulated wisdom. Each dancer is colorful and unique, and the 'wisdom' discussed here is an ability to constantly discover oneself, grow oneself, and play one’s strengths. Dance uses the body as the medium of expression. Therefore, the personality, accumulation, and wisdom of a dancer or an artist will be represented through their body, intertwined in the works, which will decide the direction and quality of the works. Rich learning will make a person confident. So, in the teaching of traditional art, shall we avoid the singular teaching method and focus on the multi-facet development of talents while seeking norms? In order to maintain the constant interaction between the two sides of teaching, we need to not only stimulate the students’ interests and give them confidence but also pass on a sense of responsibility for themselves and others. It is a factor that cannot be ignored in cultivating the ability of learner autonomy. Willing to take the responsibility is in need of the students to actively take actions so as to support their choices.Teaching and learning are mutually functioned, which means that teachers and students need to respect each other, assimilate ideas from each other, and guide each other. The unity of dance styles does not mean the singularity of educational method. The author suggests that contemporary dance education need to pay attention to cultivating students’ ability to think and solve problems independently so that each student can be confident and enthusiastic to discover his wisdom. The development of dance shall be promoted by both teachers and students.
