Study on the Impact of Delayed Retirement on Health Services Utilization

目的:分析延迟退休对医疗服务利用的影响。方法:利用2015年中国健康与养老追踪调查数据,以符合我国当前退休年龄要求的个体为研究对象,运用倾向得分匹配法解决样本选择偏差和内生性问题,采用一对一匹配方法计算平均处理效应。结果:在解决了样本选择偏误问题的基础上,首次尝试分析延迟退休对医疗服务利用的影响。结果表明,延迟退休对个体的医疗服务利用存在显著的负向影响,延迟退休个体的门诊利用、门诊次数、住院利用和住院次数显著低于非延迟退休个体。结论:延迟退休可以降低个体的医疗服务利用和支出,在制定延迟退休相关政策时可纳入一并考虑。

Objective: To analyze the impact of delayed retirement on the utilization of health services utilization. Methods: Based on the 2015 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study data, the individuals who met the current retirement age requirements in China were selected as the research object. The Propensity Score Matching method was used to solve the sample selection bias and endogeneity problems, and the one-to-one matching method was used to calculate the average treatment efect on the treatment effect.Results: Based on solving the problem of sample selection bias, the first attempt was made to analyze the impact of delayed retirement on the utilization of medical services. The results showed that delayed retirement had a significant negative impact on the utilization of individual medical services. The numbers of outpatient use, outpatient visits, hospitalization and hospitalization of delayed retirement individuals were significantly lower than non-delayed retirement individuals. Conclusion: Delayed retirement could reduce individual health services utilization and expenditure, and could be considered when formulating policies related to delayed retirement.
