In this paper the molecular weights and molecular weight distributions of different kinds of cellulose are studied by gel permeation chromatography calibrated with narrow distribution polystyrene standards and using 0.5% LiCl in N, N dimethylacetamide(DMAc) as the eluent. The results show that the MWD of cellulose for producing textile Lyocell fibers is different from that for producing Lyocell precursor for carbon fiber.
