The two stylized expressions 'As the saying goes ...' and 'It is just/exactly ...' are chosen from the traditional Chinese novel Ci Hua. In the paper,their structural features,properties and or igins,and discourse functions are compared and analyzed,and exposed as well are t heir functional features which are both opposite and complementary to each other .
