Freud divided personality into id, ego and superego and took a writer’s work as his day dream. In Anna Karenina ,which is taken as Tolstoy’s day dream, the complicated relationships of the three main characters project the structural relationships within his own mental personality: Anna presents his id, Vronsky presents his ego and Karenin presents his superego.
