'Red cultural resources' is a valuable spiritual wealth with unique resource advantage and educational value. To promote the effective use of 'red cultural resources' in Ideological and political education in colleges and universities is the realistic need to strengthen and improve the ideological and political education of college students. This paper expounds the connotation of 'red culture resources', clarifies the role of the 'red culture resources' in college ideological and political education,and discusses how to rely on the 'red culture resources',pay attention to educate people with culture,follow the law of Ideological and political work, follow the teaching law, follow the law of development of students,promote students’ development of Ideological and political education innovation and provide theoretical basis and practical value in order to improve pertinence, effectiveness, attraction, appeal and persuasion of college students’ ideological and political education.
