Rhododendron liboense, a new species of the Ericaceae from Libo County, Guizhou, China, is described and illustrated. This species is related to R. huianum Fang in having inflorescence terminal, corolla pink, broadly campanulate, ovary densely white glandular hairy, stigma capitate, but differs by having leaves narrower, 1.6-2.8 cm broad, inflorescence axis 1-3 cm long, flowers 7-9 in number, ca. 8 cm in diameter, calyx shorter and smaller, only 1-2 mm long.
