The concept of balancing development and conservation of environmmtal resources has been floating on the fringes of the global discourse for over two decades.Enshrined in the Rio Earth summit(1992)and reinforced twenty years later at Rio+20 this concept manifested itself in different forms-sustainable development and green growth being the more acceptable terminologies used.
