西方传播研究源考

Study of the origin of western Propagation

在对西方传播理论发展的研究中,有关传播研究源起的论述极为鲜见。国内发表的文章以及出版的专著对这一问题,要么语焉不详,要么存在误解。本文根据传播学与修辞学学科性质,传播研究与修辞研究所采用的方法与手段以及两者的传承历史发展关系,认为西方传播研究源于19世纪末20世纪初美国高等教育领域内的修辞研究与语言教学的分野。

In the communication studies in the west, there are few surveys about its origin, and this is the same case in China. The articles and books issued about this question are either blur or misleading. Based on the relationship of communication and rhetoric and their academic developments, this article probes the separation of the rhetoric studies and English language teaching in the turn of 19th and 20th in the higher education in America.
