Social and economic burden by cardiovascular diseases is increasing,and the issue of overuse in cardiovascular medical services is being much more concerned,which puts a significant meaning on reducing of overuse in cardiovascular services. The paper reviewed the situation,reasons and countermeasures of overuse in cardiovascular services in American,and explored its implications to China. It is suggested to establish evidence based clinical guideline for clinical decision- support,promote communication between doctors and patients for shared decision- making,take advantage of medical insurance and financial incentives measures,improve legal norm and strengthen government supervision,etc.
