小白鼠经鼻腔感染普氏立克次氏体后,在肺组织的上清液体中能够获得一种干扰素。它对乙醚有抵抗力且不能透析;每分钟16,000转的离心速度尚不能使它沉淀。酸透析和碱透析以及60℃30分钟均不能使其受到破坏。但可受到0.01%胰蛋白酶的破坏。这种干扰素对于普氏立克次氏体和牛痘苗病毒有干扰作用,例如它能使普氏立克次氏体在家兔皮內所引起的反应推迟、減轻和反应过程的缩短;在鼠肺中的繁殖受到一定的抑制;受到普氏立克次氏体感染的豚鼠的发烧期略短,体重减轻略少,而血清中的补体结合抗体却低于对照组(未经过干扰素处理)豚鼠血清的4倍。
An interferon-like substance was found in thesupernatant fluid of a suspension of mouse lungtissue after intranasal instillation of virulent materialof Rickettsia prowazeki.It was ether-resistant,afeature quite distinct from other interferons.Itcould not be sedimented at 16,000 r.p.m.for 35minutes.It was non-dialysable,retaining its acti-vities after acid and alkali treatment,but was com-pletely destroyed after exposure to trypsin. An interfering effect was observed on intracu-taneous inoculation of this material for virulentrickettsia and vaccinia injected into the rabbit skin. In the experimental rickettsial infection in guin-ea pigs,some amelioration of clinical symptomswas observed in the interfcron-treated group of ani-mals:The duration of fever was slightly shortenedand the loss of body weight was slightly less. A group of mice inoculated intranasally withthis intcrferon was found to withstand partially thechallenging effect of an intranasal inoculation ofrickettsia. The activity of rickettsial inferferon was atleast 3 months when it was kept at 4℃.
