西方宗教学的最大贡献是力图摆脱神学的羁绊,提倡对宗教进行理性研究,但也往往带有唯心主义哲学的局限性。与一切唯心主义的宗教理论不同,马克思主义宗教观确认了宗教的现实基础,为如何进行宗教研究确立了正确方向。具有中国特色的马克思主义宗教学,正是在马克思主义宗教观的指导下,努力吸收中外宗教学的研究成果,结合世界各种宗教尤其是中国宗教发展演变的历史与现实,按照马克思主义认识论的科学逻辑,提练与型塑富有自身独特性的宗教学基本理论和学科体系。

The greatest contribution of the Western science of religion lies in striving to get rid of the restraint of theology,and advocating rational research of religions,yet such research often bear limitation of idealist philosophy.Different from all idealist theories of religion,the Marxist concept of religion affirms the realistic basis of religion,and establishes right direction for studies of religions.Under the guidance of Marxist concept of religion,the Marxist science of religion with Chinese characteristics absorbs academic achievements of Chinese and foreign research of religion,and construct the fundamental theory and discipline system of science of religion with our own peculiarity according to the scientific logic of Marxist epistemology,as well as combining the history,evolution,and reality of various religions of the world,especially of Chinese religions.
