Brief Analysis on Characteristics and Development Requirements of China's Middle Class

我国新兴的中产阶层从20世纪80年代中期开始崛起,尽管现阶段还没有构成社会的主体,且与上层和下层的划分界线仍不很明确,但已具有区别于其他阶层的一些社会特征。随着中产阶层的发展壮大,必将在促进社会稳定等方面发挥日益重要的作用。因此,创造条件促进中产阶层发展已成为当务之急。

The rising middle class began to emerge on the horizon from the middle of the 1980's in China. At present, although it has not been the main part of the society and it has not had the clean break with the upper class and the lower one, it has possessed some social characteristics which clearly differ from those of other classes. With the expansion of the middle class, it will surely play more and more important role at many aspects, such as maintain social stability. Therefore, it is an urgent matter to create favorable conditions in order to promote the development of the middle class.
