Ancient Local Dwelling Houses in Taizhou

泰州位于江苏省中部的江淮之间,为我国南北文化交汇处。这里民风醇厚,事耕稼,尚儒雅,耻以浮、薄相夸。明代以来,少有战火,得以保存大批优秀民居。泰州民居从建筑式样和结构来说,既有南方的清秀、典雅,又有北方的雄浑;简朴,有一些较为鲜明的地方特色。

Taizhou is located in the middle of Jiang-Huai District, Jiangsu Province, which is the interchange for the north and south culture in China. Here the residents are very kind and nice. Since Ming Dynasty, there was little war, and a large number of excellent dwellings were preserved. On the point of view of the style and structure, Taizhou local dwellings are with both southern elegance and northern simplicity, these are distinctive local features.
