The Origin of the Discipline of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature

民国时期的大学新文学课程是中国现代文学学科的源头,它在晚清以来西学东渐的背景下逐渐确立并受到人事因素的巨大影响,虽然曾一度被列入教育部的大学中文系科目表,却仍然保持了其'民间'特色。就学术承传关系来说,民国时期朱自清的《中国新文学研究纲要》为中国现代文学学科奠基人之一王瑶的《中国新文学史稿》开创了文学史编著体例,并影响了后者的学术风格。

The New Literature curriculum in the Republican China period is the origin of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature as a discipline.It was established in the background of impingement of Western academics and were influenced by the changes of personnel in universities and colleges.Although once listed in the syllabi issued by the Ministry of Education,it were nongovernmental.As for the academic heritage,The Compendium of New Literature Research by Zhu Ziqing served as a model for The History of Chinese New Literature by Wang Yao and influenced the latter’s academic style.
