The paper is concerned with the identity of the New Yorkers in Bai Xianyong’s Fiction.In his early fiction,most of the Chinese Americans are not acculturated;that is to say,they are seeing the world with Chinese eyes.In his recent fiction,Bai is more concerned with the human nature.The marginal community of gays is getting more and more attentioa He goes on to show that communications between ethnic groups is possible.It is especially true in love.However,the new breakthrough doesn’t mean Bai has abandoned his China Complex.
