Facing Up to the Informal Groups in a Class

摘要 在班级中,学生不仅受到正式群体的限制,而且还受到非正式群体的控制和影响。因此,教育工作者要重视学生非正式群体,注意引导、发挥其积极效应,防止消极的影响。 The proverb "birds of a feather flock together" shows that the existence of different groups of human beings is inevitable. In school, class itself is a group, in which we should not only think highly of such formal groups as class committee and the branch of the Communist Youth League of China, but we shouldn’t neglect some informal groups. The theory of educational psychology thinks that formal groups are those organized according to the requirement of management for education, while informal groups are those gathered spontaneously because of sharing common interests, hobbies, concepts, etc. Students in a class are not only restricted by formal groups, but also restrained and influenced by informal groups. As a result, educational workers should also lay emphasis on those informal groups, give guidance to them consciously to take advantage of the positive effects of them and try to avoid the negative effects.
