摘要
石黑一雄的小说《被埋葬的巨人》是一部本雅明式的寓言小说,延续了"记忆与遗忘"的一贯主题,并将个人记忆扩大到了集体记忆层面,用文学形式表现战争与杀戳、历史记忆和政治隐喻。小说的寓言性叙事使该作品充满了多义性。特别值得一提的是,其叙事策略具有瓦尔特·本雅明寓言理论的废墟性、忧郁性及碎片化等美学特征。通过寓言理论观照,小说中有关弥赛亚救赎、圣经隐喻、废墟崇拜、创伤记忆等叙事伦理便会突显出来,它们共同深化了该作品的现代性批判、救赎真理等主题。
The Buried Giant written by Kazuo Ishiguro,a fable story featuring the concepts of Walter Benjamin’s fable theory,follows the theme of'memory and oblivion,which has been frequency in all his works.Furthermore,in this novel,collective memory takes the place of individual memory,with war and killing,historical memory and political metaphor presented.Therefore,the allegorical narration has endowed this work with abundant meanings and it is worth mentioning that this kind of narrative strategy is characterized by ruins,fragmentation,melancholy and other aesthetic features,which can be found in Benjamin’s fable theory.Consequently,in the light of fable theory,the narrative ethics in this novel like the messiah redemption,biblical metaphors,worship of the ruins and traumatic memories can be explored,which together help to deepen various themes,such as the critique of modernity,the truth of redemption,etc.
