Firstly, the essay points out that Liang clarified the implication and the characteristic of symbolism, and revealed the aesthetic ideal that symbolism cherishes. Secondly, it says that western symbolistic poetry maintains the expression of 'dream of heart' , while Liang maintains the poet to be in contact with life.The paper analyzes the two causes that form the latter's stand.Thirdly,it analyzes the similarities and differences between Liang's modern Gelu poetry and the New Moon School's.
