摘要
本文探讨了英语国际化与本土化发展对中国英语教学目标语定位的挑战。作者在对相关文献研究基础上,阐释了英语国际化与本土化的内涵,分析了二者共生共存的特点及其对中国英语教学目的语定位的影响。作者认为中国英语教学应顺应英语语言发展,兼顾国际化与本土化的英语范式。唯有如此,才能培养出具有鲜明中国文化身份和跨文化交际能力的国际化英语人才。
This article explores the challenge for a new definition of the target language for ELT in China which has been posed by the internationalization and nativization of the English language. Drawing on literature of recent researches, the authors elaborated on the nature of internationalization and nativization of English, and examined the co-existent features of the two as well as their influcences on the teaching target of ELT in China. The authors contend that ELT in the Chinese context should adapt itself with the development of the English language and adopt an integrated paradigm that takes into consideration both the internationalization and nativization of English. This integrated paradigm is deemed necessary for turning the students into international-oriented English speaking talents with salient Chinese cultural identities and intercultural communicative competence.
