摘要
该文旨在探究某综合性重点大学工科学生英语拓展课选课动机类型及个人背景因素对其选课动机的影响。该研究采用问卷调查的方法,通过因子分析得出6种动机类型,分别是语言层面的工具型动机和融入型动机、学习者层面的学习者动机、学习情景层面的教师因素动机和学习集体动机以及独立于三个层面的简易趋利动机。关于个人背景因素,多元方差分析表明,性别、年级和英语分级对选课动机类型有显著影响。此外,因为学部的差异,工科学生的选课动机类型也存有较大差异。除去学习集体动机外,信息学部学生的其他各个动机类型都较其他两个学部学生显著。
This paper investigates the motivation types of the engineering undergraduates in selecting English extended courses and the impact of personal background on the course selection motivation.The instrument is a Likert-scale questionnaire.Six factors result from the analysis:'instrumental motivation'and'integrative motivation'on language level;'learner motivation'on learner level;'teachers-specific motivation'and'group-specific motivation'on learning situation level;and'simple benefit-oriented motivation',which is independent of the three levels.Results also show that gender,grades,and English proficiency have significant impact on course-selection motivation.In addition,course motivation types vary in faculties.The students from Faculty of Information Science are significantly different from those from the other two faculties in terms of all course motivation types except the group-specific motivation.
