福建猴类资源调查及保护意见

A PRELIMINARY SURVEY OF THE RESOURCES OF MONKEYS IN FUJIAN,WITH SUGGESTIONS ON ITS CONSERVATION

猴类在进化上是人类的近亲,因而猴子是医学及生物学等学科的重要试验动物。目前国内外对猴子的需求量不断增加。我国猴子种类虽多,但资源日益减少。福建省猴类只有猕猴(Macaca mulatta)和红面猴(Macaca arctoides)两种,种类虽少,但由于境内丘陵起伏,气候温暖,山高林密,自然条件适于猴类的生存繁衍,因此目前猴类资源仍然比较丰富,是我国主要产猴区之一。为使我省猴类资源能得到合理开发、保护和利用。

There are two species of monkeys in Fujian. They are the macacus monkey (Macaca mulatta) and the short-tailed monkek (M. speciosa). The former is widely distributed in this province while the latter is more restricted in distribution. Urgent need of conservation and protection of the resources of monkeys in our province is herein suggested.
