摘要
作者在福建中部沿海采得青环海蛇标本1,413号、黑头海蛇标本58号。在种类鉴定工作中,发现根据价索表关于青环海蛇和黑头海蛇的分类性状,还难于鉴定某些标本应该属于这两种海蛇中的哪一种。鉴于解剖学有为几乎所有较高等动物类群提供了分类性状的丰富泉源,作者测最比较青环海蛇和黑头海蛇的脑,试图找到这两种海蛇之间新的分类性状,为进一步探讨这两种海蛇的分类积累资料。
Brains of twenty specimens taken from Hydrophis cyanocinctus and H. melanocephalus(5♀♀ and 5 from each species)were measured.Mean and standard diviations were calculated in each species.Student’s t-test was em- ployed in order to test for the significance of difference in the two species. It has been found that there is no significant difference between the brain of the two species and the brain measurements of the male and the female in each species.The results obtained may indicate that they belong to the same species.
