It seems that art failed to keep up with the Industrial Age,when people advocated high efficiency,high productivity as well as commodity,where artists found themselves in an extremely difficult situation.Nevertheless,artists would always stand firmly by art in works of Swedish writer Robert Walser when it comes to the choices between being an ordinary person and being an artist,of the attitudes towards the art in the wave of industrialization.They are determined to maintain the essence of the art,which is beauty,and believe that art has no direct material utilitarian purpose.
