语言与文化密不可分,语言是文化的载体,反映了与其相应的文化。语言的空缺现象是语言交际中的一种重要的文化现象,习语更集中地体现了民族文化的空缺。在英语教学中解读英汉习语的文化空缺现象,不仅有利于克服英语教学中的语言障碍,而且也有助于中西方文化的交流,实现跨文化交际的目的。

Language and culture are inseparable.Language,the carrier of culture,reflects and transmits its culture.The vacancy in languages is an important cultural phenomenon in communication;while idioms show the national cultural vacancy in a clearer way.Interpreting the vacancy between English and Chinese idioms in the English teaching can not only help get over the language barrier in the English teaching,but also make it easier to communicate between China and the West,thus reaching the goal of cross-cultural communication.
