翻译补偿及其在文学意象翻译中的应用

Translation Compensation and Its Application to Translation of Literary Image

翻译活动中常伴随一定程度的翻译损失,因此翻译补偿是翻译活动不可或缺的组成部分。语言的相对不可译是翻译补偿存在的原因,如语言差异、文化缺省与审美差异都是翻译中的障碍。从文学角度看,意象是翻译的基本单位。对文学意象翻译的补偿主要遵循两大原则,即相关原则和等功能原则。在具体应用中,替代补偿、文中补偿、注释补偿是常用的补偿策略。

The translation process is accompanied by translation loss.Therefore compensation is a necessary part for translation activities.The untranslatability of language accounts for the presence of compensation,including language differences,cultural default and different esthetic judgments.Image is the basic translation unit in literary translation.Translators mainly observe the principle of relation and the principle of the same function to render the translation of literary image.The compensation techniques in common use are replacement,annotation within text and annotation outside text.
