摘要
有声语言是人类交际的重要手段,同样无声语言也能传递丰富的信息,有时甚至是有声语言难以或无法表达的。作为非言语交际手段之一的沉默是英语课堂交际中常见的现象,同时,也是最容易被我们忽视和误解的,往往会引起交际失误。本文在关联理论和认知语境等相关知识构建的平台之上,结合英语课堂会话中师生沉默的例子,探讨其丰富含义的生成和理解机制,从而提高教学效率。
The non-verbal language,like the verbal counterpart,is one of the most important ways for communication.Sometimes non-verbal language can transmit much richer information than the verbal one.Silence,a main act of nonverbal communication,is very common in English class.But it is often ignored,causing communicative failures.Based on Relevance Theory (Sperber & Wilson,1986) and the knowledge of cognitive context,this paper studies teacher silence and students silence in English class and explores the psychological process of the communicators in interpreting the rich meaning of silence in order to raise English teaching efficiency.
