The Deep Meaning of Conversational Implicature:A Study on the Violation of Cooperative Principle in the Drama Storm

美国语言学家格赖斯的"合作原则"是人们言语交际活动的重要准则,但在交际中违反合作原则的现象很多。本文通过研究戏剧《雷雨》中人物违反"合作原则"的对话,分析其背后所蕴含的特殊会话含义,以此揭示剧中人物的性格特征和人物之间的矛盾冲突,展现人物复杂的内心活动,从语用学角度对戏剧作品《雷雨》进行了新的诠释。

American linguist Grice’s Cooperative Principle is a very important norm people obey in communication,but people also violate the principle frequently. This paper studies the violations of Cooperative Principle in the characters’ dialogue in the drama Storm,and analyses the particularized conversational implicature between dialogues. In this way,this paper probes the characters’ features and the contradictions and conflicts between characters,describes characters’ inner activity,and offers a new pragmatic perspective to analyze dramas.
