摘要
本文以评价理论的"态度"子系统为理论框架,以奥巴马2010年国情咨文为研究语料,分析概念隐喻的劝谏功能,从积极和消极两方面分析概念隐喻的评价意义。隐喻所传达的评价意义能够帮助实现劝说民众支持或反对某项政策、采取某种行动的政治目的。
Under the framework of Martin’s appraisal theory,this paper makes an analysis on the persuasive function of conceptual metaphor by using the data from Obama’s State of the Union Address in 2010.The appraisal meanings conveyed by metaphors enable the addresser to influence the addressee’s thoughts and behaviors,to manipulate the addressee’s judgments and inferences and finally to realize the political goal of persuasion.
