A Commentary on The Construction and Applied Studies of the Chinese-English Parallel Corpus of Hong Lou Meng

对《红楼梦》翻译进行系统的规模化研究形成了《红楼》译学,其构建需要大批研究成果的支撑,刘泽权的新著《〈红楼梦〉中英文语料库的创建及应用研究》为之提供了新生力量。刘著对红学和翻译学的贡献良多,著作中一本多译式量化对比研究的方法尤值得学界借鉴。

A systematic and large-scale study on the translation of Hong Lou Meng will form a sub-discipline called Hong Lou Meng translation studies,the construction of which requires a series of relevant research achievements.Liu Zequan’s newly-written monograph------The Construction and Applied Studies of the ChineseEnglish Parallel Corpus of Hong Lou Meng——provides a new impetus to its construction.Through the introduction to Liu’s monograph,this paper sketches out its contribution to both redology and translatology,especially regarding the quantitative method by comparing one text and its several translations employed in the monograph.
