高职英语学习者形名搭配错误的分析

An Error Analysis of Adjective-Noun Collocation of English Learners

摘要 英语搭配是英语学习的一个难点,同时也是语言学界的一个热点议题。通过对高职高专学生的英语形名搭配错误的分类和统计分析发现,高职高专英语学习者掌握英语形名搭配的水平普遍偏低,其错误的主要类型是:语际错误和语内错误,而引起错误的主要原因是母语负迁移,直接翻译,近义词互换。根据分析结果为英语教学提出建议:英语教学应重视词汇搭配,增强学生搭配意识;词汇搭配教学应侧重讲解整体意思取构成词的引申义、比喻义的搭配和结构不对等的搭配。 English collocation is not only an arduous task for learners but also a keen issue widely discussed in the field of linguistics.This empirical study conducts a statistical analysis on the adjective-noun collocation errors produced by 43 first year students majoring in International Trade and Practice in a higher vocational college,aiming to provide a profile of vocational English learners’ acquisition of adjective-noun collocations and to explore the causes of errors.The results show that in general the subjects do not appear to have a good command of English adjective-noun collocations.The errors are classified as;interlingual errors and intralingual errors,which can be accounted for by first language interference,literal translation and the misuse of synonyms. In accordance with the results,two suggestions for English teaching are put forward.First,more emphasis should be placed on collocations in order to enhance the students’ collocational awareness.Second,teaching of both L2 collocations whose constituents are used in their non-literal senses or extended senses and L2 collocations which are not congruent with their L1 translations in form deserve extra efforts.
