外语教师课堂提问的系统功能语言学分析

A Systemic Functional Linguistic Analysis of EFL Teachers’ Questions

摘要 在系统功能语言学的框架内多层面、多功能地描述外语教师课堂提问的语言特征,可以使教师和教育研究者清楚地认识课堂提问的功能特征及其与语言形式之间的关系,以便更好地发挥课堂提问的作用。分析结果表明,外语教师提问表现为人际、逻辑和谋篇三类特征。人际特征表现为核查、问询、征求意见和请求作答;逻辑特征表现为释义、延伸、解释和限定;谋篇特征表现为重问、附着性提问和问题系列。 A multi-stratal and multi-functional analysis of teachers’ questions within the framework of systemic functional linguistics can raise EFL teachers’ as well as researchers’ awareness of the relationship between form and meaning in EFL teachers’ questions so as to enable EFL teachers to make better use of their questions in classroom teaching. The analysis reveals the linguistic features of EFL teachers’ questions around the interpersonal, logical and textual metafunctions. Interpersonal features can be described in four patterns: Check, Enquiry, Opinion-seeking and Response-requesting; logical features in four patterns: Rephrasing, Extending, Explaining and Qualifying; textual features in three patterns: Reiteration, Attachment and Question Series.
