摘要
小说《恐怖分子》中,身份特殊的艾哈迈德被当作是"他者",被边缘化,被排斥,被歧视,甚至遭受着生命威胁。他的坎坷的成长之路与他的家庭和社会环境是分不开的。艾哈迈德对充满堕落与罪恶的社会及生活在其中的人们的精神空虚感到失望与绝望,内心受到很大的触动,陷入困惑之中,一种强烈的创伤感弥漫在心间,他向往纯洁的生活,然而社会现实却如此残酷,唯有与"主"交流才能达到心灵的平静与精神的慰藉。
Terrorist perceives the decadence and darkness of post-9/11 American society and reflects John Updike’s keen insight and profound introspection on social issues. This paper explores the factors which causes the protagonist to set foot on the terrorist road, including ethnic, family and society and religion and so on. It also analyzes humanity distortion and battle between good and evil of human nature caused by political, economic and cultural conflicts in the context of social contradictions and globalization.
