The World is Too Much with Us的探讨揭示了语言形式体现意义的过程。 British romantic poetry is one of the main fields in British romantic literature.English poet Wordsworth is the representative of romanticism. His view of nature in his natural poetry has been explored from various literary perspectives. However, there are few analytical studies from the perspective of systemic functional linguistics. This analysis of Wordsworth’s The World is Too Much with Us is within the framework of systemic functional linguistics, focusing on the theories of metafunctions and grammatical metaphors. The linguistic analysis shows Wordsworth’s concern and love for nature, his pursuit of spiritual purification, his sublimation of life, and his critical attitude towards the reality of the world. In addition, the feasibility of systemic functional linguistics for analyzing philosophical thoughts in English romantic poetry is verified.
