A Scientometric Analysis of Gui Shichun’s Academic Contribution

Gui Shichun,a well-known linguist and foreign language educator,has made great academic contribution to contemporary linguistics and applied linguistics in China.Based on Gui’s books and papers,his academic contribution is studied by using the methodology of scientometrics,including literatures statistics,word frequency analysis and information visualization.The results not only indicate Gui’s relentless spirit,vigorous pursuit,and prolific achievement,but also show his profound academic contribution in many disciplines,including applied linguistics,English language education,psycholinguistics,corpus linguistics,language testing and research methodology.
