高明行旅昆山无锡事迹考

Gao Ming's Travels to Kunshan and Wuxi(Research Report)

作者高明与昆山的顾瑛颇有交谊,跟玉山雅集中人时有往来,曾参与顾瑛文士集团的社会活动,接触面甚广。其昆山无锡之行所作的诗文,则反映了高明在人生道路上的思想状态。一方面,他厌倦仕宦生涯,向往隐逸;另一方面,他又崇尚孔孟之道,忠实地恪守儒家精神。他的道德建构是竭力宣扬忠、孝、节、义,这是封建社会传统的伦理观念。这种思想基础和价值理念,造成了他把不忠不孝的《蔡二郎》写成了全忠全孝的《琵琶记》。

Gao Ming(高明), Author of The Lute, had close and amicable ties with Gu Ying, and contact with figures in the Yushan salon. He participated in literati social events and had a wide circle of acquaintance. The poems and prose pieces that he wrote during his travels in Kunshan and Wuxi reflect Gao Ming’s state of mind on the road of life. On the one hand,he loathed the official life, and longed for seclusion. On the other hand, he advocated the philosophy of Confucius and Mencius, faithfully abiding by Confucianist philosophy. His moral structure is formed by the advocacy for loyalty, filial piety, righteousness, according to the traditional ethical concepts. This philosophical basis and concepts of value are what caused him to re-write the unfilial, disloyal scriptsSecond Son Cai as the loyal, filial scriptThe Lute.
