Based on his understanding of The Sound And The Fury, the author analyses Faulkner's female complex and comes to the conclusion that Faulkner's original intention to write The Sound And The Fury was to show women's being both lovely and aweful.To women,he was always filled with both affection and fear,love and hatred.To him,women were between angels and spirits and liable to harm men.Such complicated mentality came from his family background,the cultural environment he was in,traditional Christian ideas and his own experience.
