Over-positioning is one of the positioning methods which violates the positioning of workpiece. If used improperly or damages the correct positioning, over-positioning will affect the processing precision or result in interference so that the workpieces can not be installed. If used properly, it can not only raise the positioning precision but also the mounting stability of workpieces. The paper introduces the application of over-positioning in practical engineering.
