在现代化建设的进程中,我国工人阶级队伍不断壮大,保持和发挥了先进性,而且在当代新历史时期这种先进性获得了新的发展。同时应看到,要进一步保持和发挥工人阶级的先进性,仍然是我们当前一项刻不容缓的战略任务。根据内因和外因的辩证关系原理,解决好这一战略任务,关键在于工人阶级自身发奋图强,同时也要高度重视外部保障机制的建立。

Today in the course of modernization drive the Chinese working class is steadily expanding in membership, maintains and has brought into play their progressiveness, furthermore they have got this progressiveness developed in the new era. And it should be also noted that it is still a pressing strategic task for us to further maintain and develop the progressiveness of the working class. According to the dialectical principle of internal cause and external cause, to successfully implement such a strategic task the key lies in the self-determination and effort as well as in attach great importance to establishing external guarantee mechanism.
