摘要
本文主要讨论两个问题:在20世纪的上半叶张元济这个学者和出版人在中国社会现代化的进程中做出哪些主要贡献;为什么他为社会变迁所作的贡献自1980年代晚期起受到如此高的颂扬?历史记忆中的社会概念和如此的杰出人士所进行的重建作为一种政治信息构成了本研究的理论框架。
Zhang Yuanji was a famous scholar and publisher in the first half of 20th century. This article was mainly concerned with two questions: one is that what he contributed to the modernization of Chinese society, the other is why he was highly praised since the late of 1980s.
