在翻译中,读者是译者关注和审视的对象。然而,译界对这个特殊的接受群体缺乏真正的了解和统一的认识与全面的研究。在此情形下,奈达的“读者反应论”便很快引起了中国译界的强烈反响和高度重视。该论强调,判断一个译文的效用不宜拘泥于相应的词汇意义、语法类别和修辞手段的对比,重要的是要考察接受者正确理解和欣赏译语文本的程度。此外,它着重探讨读者反应对翻译过程和技巧的重要影响。通过与接受美学的结合,在四个方面具有了更大的解释力。诚然,读者反应论并不是翻译理论的终结,而只是拓宽了我们的视野,给文化传播增添了新的方法。

In translation, readers are the object mostly concerned by the translator. However, they are always in the lack of real understanding, recognition and complete analysis. It is in this case that the Readers' Response Theory by Eugene Nida comes to highly attention and brings forth great reaction to the translation circle in our country. The theory stresses that it is not proper to judge the translated version only grammatically and rhetorically. What is more important is to look into the scope in which readers correctly understand and appreciate the version. Besides, it also emphatically deals with the impact of readers' response upon the course and skills of translation. Combined with the Reception Aesthetics, it gains more power in the four respects. Nevertheless, the Readers Response Theory is no terminus of translation theory of course, it just widens our viewsights and adds new ways to culture transmission.
