Research Progress on Gene of Fattening and its Product (Leptin)

Ob基因编码的Leptin具有降低脂肪,维持能量平衡,调节代谢、生殖、激素分泌,提高免疫机能等多方面的功能。本文在介绍Leptin、Leptin受体的基础上进一步对Leptin的生物学功能及其作用机制、Leptin的抗性做一简要论述,并提出了Leptin今后的研究方向及其在畜牧业上的应用前景。

Many data suggested that the product of ob gene, Leptin, had functions in reduction of fat mass; maintenance of energy balance; regulation of metabolism? reproduction and hormone secretion; improvement of response to stimuli and so on. Besides introducing Leptin and its receptor, this review also discussed its biological function, action mechanism and its resistance as well as its research direction and potential use in animal production.\;
