高校英语专业英美文学类课程教学现状调查

A Survey of Teaching "British and American Literature Courses" to College English Majors

自 2 0世纪 90年代以来 ,在高校英语专业教育中英美文学类课程教学在较大程度上有被忽视的倾向。这一问题已引起了外语界的重视。鉴于此 ,本文作者最近就高校英语专业英美文学类课程的教学现状进行了调查。作者在本文中报告了高校英语专业英美文学类课程教学现状的调查结果 (数据 ) ,并对结果进行了讨论。调查内容主要包括学生学习英美文学类课程的情况、教师的教学情况以及有关的教学研究情况等。其目的是 :1)进一步了解并反映我国高校英语专业英美文学类课程教学的现状 ;2 )掌握一般院校英语专业此类课程教学的具体情况 ;3)为此类课程的教学改革提供参考依据。调查的结果表明 ,高校英语专业英美文学类课程的教学现状不容乐观 ,加强此类课程的教学势在必行。

Since 1990's, the teaching of British and American literature courses has been to greater extent neglected in specialized education for college English majors. This question has attracted the attention of some professionals in the foreign language circle in recent years. The author of the article therefore makes a survey of teaching those courses to college English majors. The present article is a report on the survey, which mainly includes the students' learning and the teachers' instruction of those courses, and the teaching research relevant to them as well. By reporting and discussing the data-based findings, the author intends to 1) give an objective account of the present conditions of teaching 'British and American Literature Courses' to college English majors throughout the country, 2) know clearly how those courses are taught in the non-key university such as the one in which the author works and 3) provide a basis for the teaching reform of them. The findings show that nowadays the teaching is in general far from being optimistic and hence it is highly necessary to strengthen it.
